Yes- all girls teams. Major scrimmage with 30 D-1 schools attending for recruiting purposes. ESPN Hoop Gurlz Scouting service along with other top tier scouting services will be in attendance. Over 60 colleges attended the event last year. All ACC schools but Ga. Tech and Boston College.

Super Saturday is just under 2 weeks away...looking forward to it. It's awesome that ESPN's Hoop Gurlz will be in attendance along with the other scouting services...maybe ESPN can show some love to the job that the staff at Freedom has done since they started holding this jamboree-type of event. I don't or haven't heard of any other event like this in the Carolinas, a little media exposure would be nice. |

As you said it was a great day for basketball. There were a ton of schools who had scouts in attendance. I saw both North and South Carolina, Wake, ECU, Central Florida, Richmond. I heard (didn't see it myself) some people say that Texas was there looking at one of the girls from the Florida school that played today. Those are just the D1's...there were a ton of D2's in attendance as well (way too many to name) I'm curious as to the thoughts of those who watched the games...which teams stood out, what were some strong points and what areas need work? |

Here is a list of colleges/scouting services that signed in yesterday. Others attended but chose not to sign in for one reason or another. Excellent turnout once again. What teams/players looked strong at the scrimmage?

Honestly
Everyone.. This isn't a scrimmage with just a couple good teams. Almost every team there will compete for top spots in their respective conferences. Big Dan? Coach Cre? Thoughts? You guys watched more of the games than I did . I just know that McDowell and ACR will battle for the title and Freedom will be tough to beat in the SMAC Last edited by Freedom Sball; 11-16-09 at 05:43 PM. |

sorry for the delay in sending a reply...my time on here the next few days will be spotty due to computer issues.
As Thad stated there were many quality teams in attendance. In the MAC...it will come down to Reynolds and McDowell. I didn't see Reynolds but I saw TC Roberson. The loss of 9 players is just too much, even for a strong problem like they have. Roberson will bring a solid defensive effort but they may be challenged to score points against the better teams they will play this year. Ivy (#24) is a good scorer but she may have to also take on primary ball handling duties...in other words the backcourt is a question mark for the Lady Rams. I watched Freedom play once...definitely a different look on the court compared to the past four years. C.C. will be looked upon to lead the offense but they will need others to step up. Walker may break out this year on the low post. Playing in the SMAC will be a definite culture change. I think they'll handle it well... I think the NW3A-4A race will be closer than many would expect between Hickory and South Caldwell. Of the Charlotte schools...I see Harding as a possible 3A sleeper. East Meck again looked strong and Butler still has a bunch of talent. |
